Dear brothers and sisters,

I didn’t know her name. She was about 70 years old, thin, small and very agile. She sold household appliances such as water pipes of all sizes. Her shop was in Phú Nhuận district.

I knew her because I often walked across her shop. Every time I saw her sitting on the steps of her shop, I nod (meaning saying hello) and smiled. We knew each other like that. No one said anything to anyone. Sometimes I went into her shop to buy tiny items.

During the most difficult time of the Covid time, I didn’t meet her. After that time, I went to her shop to buy something. She ran out, grabbed my arms and shook me. She was happy that my family and I were still healthy and happy.

The day I came to say goodbye to her because I moved to a new place, she gave me a pots and pans cleaner as her present. She made me emotional.
