Dear Brothers and Sisters,
What is your career goal?
Eveyone of us focuses on, sometimes with worries about, his/her career goal – I want to be a super-accountant, or super-AI-engineer, or super-teacher, or super-dancer.
The problem is we usually stop there.
Think, bros and sises, being a super-professional is not the end of thinking. You want to be a super-professionnal for what? What is your purpose beyond being a super-professional? It has to be something like “I want to be a super-doctor to save lives,” or “I want to be a super-engineer to make the world more efficient”, or “I want to be a super-teacher to produce many super-students for the country,” or “I want to be a priest to save souls.”
The end of the philosophical enquiry at least must go that far – one step beyond our immediate career goal. You can even go further, say, “So, I produce many super-students for the country, for what?” and keep going ad infinitum as far as you want. However, I think we can safely stop our philosophical self-exploration at the line of people we serve beyond ourself and our immediate family.
A life that focuses only on itself is meaningless. Our life only has meaning when we focus on our flock – the human flock, which is people around us, our brothers and sisters on this planet.
That is probaby a rule from heaven.
You shall understand this rule when you shall have experienced the feeling of meaninglessness of your life, and turned your thinking around, and brought to your mind a bigger and more noble purpose than the mundane goal of serving yourself and your immediate family.
That is the ultimate experience that shall open your mind to the ultimate truth of living.
One day, sooner or later, you will come to that place, lonely and quiet, facing your empty self, and ask: For many years, what have I been doing? Does it truly have any meaning at all?
That is the time of self-reckoning and you will meet it.
Hope you have a good answer then.

Em rất vui mỗi ngày có bài của anh Hoành để đọc. Anh viết tiếng anh bằng những từ rất đơn giản nhưng rất hay, em có cơ hội học hỏi thêm tiếng anh nữa.
