The New Year Prayer

Father,

New Year, I pray for this suffering world – Russia v. Ukraine, Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, Sudan conflict with 4 million people on the edge of starving, migrants at US borders, migrants die on the boats to Europe, the stateless Rohingyas from Bangladesh and Myanmar, war everywhere from the Middle East to Africa, Asia, Central and South America, and Europe, everywhere is conflict, injustice, death and famine… This is such a sad scene for the human race.

My heart is so hurt.

What can we do other than asking you to have mercy on us.

This, as the Buddha said, is a world of ignorance and suffering.

We cannot count on our ignorant selves to fix anything. You can’t not count on us ignorant to fix anything.

We can only count on you to have mercy on us and fix the world for us.

My Lord, if you don’t fix, no one else can fix.

I have no way to go, no one else to turn to.

I have only you, my Lord and my friend, to lean on and to ask for help.

Help me. Help me. And help our world.

I have faith in you.

Glory be to you, for our sake.

Amen

  2. Thank you, anh Hoanh for your prayers. I join you to pray and ask our Lord Father to fix the suffering and the madness of this World.

    Father, You created this World and we can only look up to You. Please help us to fix this broken world. Father, please accept and hear our prayers. Please make this World of Yours and of Your Love, not of our ignorance.

    Are you ok?

    You have heard the cries and moans of many people who are suffering from wars, violence, and starvation. I’m sorry…perhaps, you have wept a lot.

    You know exactly what’s going on in the world and in each of our hearts. Everything seems overwhelming. No one can help except you. Only you can mend what’s happening.

    Please have mercy on us and heal the world. Let us feel your love and bring that love to this world.

    I trust in you and love you, Jesus.

    Dear Jesus,

    The world has lots of pains and sufferings.

    Please keep me as a channel of your peace. Please keep me calm so that you may use me as an instrument for your peacework on earth.

    I don’t think I can feel all the pain in your heart, it’s much more than I can feel. I pray with you.

    Dear Father,

    Please help my brother and help our world.

    Please help us fix it with your mercy on us. Make the World a better place, a place of peace, love harmony.
