Erasmus Mundus – AGRIS MUNDUS Scholarships
The Agris mundus MSc has been renewed by the European Commission for another 5 years. This means that scholarships (for both EU and third countriy students) will still be awarded every year to attend the course. Look at the website in october 2010 for the next call for candidates.
The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.
The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train students to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animall production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. They will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.

Humboldt -Georg Forster Research Fellowships
Every year, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables more than 2,000 researchers from all over the world to spend time researching in Germany. The Foundation maintains a network of more than 24,000 Humboldtians from all disciplines in over 130 countries worldwide – including 43 Nobel Prize winners.
Submit an application if you are a researcher from a developing country with above average qualifications, completed your doctorate less than twelve years ago, already have your own research profile and are working at least at the level of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Group Leader or have a record of several years of independent academic work.
A Georg Forster Research Fellowship for experienced researchers allows you to carry out a long-term research project (6−18 months) you have selected yourself in cooperation with an academic host you have selected yourself at a research institution in Germany. The fellowship is flexible and can be divided up into as many as three stays within three years.

The award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future.
Academics from abroad, regardless of their discipline or nationality, may be nominated for a Humboldt Research Award. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation particularly encourages the nomination of qualified female academics.

The Master Course ‘Global Studies – A European perspective’ is an interdisciplinary, research-based Master offered by a consortium of five European universities:

this scholarship covers for the complete tuition fees. Category A scholarships include a single travel allowance of € 8,000 and living allowance of € 1,000 per month whereas Category B scholarships include a single travel allowance of € 3,000 and living allowance of € 500 per month. For the academic year 2010/11 there have been 8 category A scholarships for third country students and additional 2 category A grants for nationals from the Western Balkan and Turkey available as well as 6 Category B grants. All applications arriving by the deadline (December 1st of each year) at the office in Leipzig are automatically taken into consideration for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
