The HCMC-Moc Bai expressway, approved by the prime minister to be done by 2027, would span 51 km and connect HCMC’s Cu Chi District and Tay Ninh’s Ben Cau District.

Chinese investments in Vietnam have surged. But they bring not only opportunities but also challenges for the latter.
Since the US–China trade war started in 2017, Vietnam has become an increasingly popular choice for multinational corporations (MNCs) seeking to diversify their supply chains away from China to mitigate geopolitical risks. According to the General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam, foreign investors pledged to invest a total of US$248.3 billion in 19,701 projects in the country (see Figure 1) for the 2017-2023 period. This amount accounts for a staggering 52.8 per cent of Vietnam’s cumulative registered foreign direct investment (FDI) since the country adopted economic reforms in the late 1980s. This trend has continued in 2024, with the country recording a remarkable US$27.26 billion in new registered FDI by the end of October.

Human rights advocates on Friday highlighted a rare instance in which a U.S. corporate media outlet allowed a pro-Palestinian voice to set the record straight about Israel’s crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Earlier this week, CNN “News Central” aired a panel segment on the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel and Israel’s retaliatory war. Anchor Kate Bolduan noted that around 1,200 people were killed during the Hamas attack—although she did not say that at least some of them were slain by Israeli forces in “friendly fire” incidents and under the Hannibal Directive—and that 250 others were kidnapped.

LTS: Đầu tháng 9-2024, tại phiên họp toàn thể lần thứ 14 của Ủy ban Tư pháp của Quốc hội, khi nhận xét báo cáo của Chính phủ về công tác phòng, chống tham nhũng năm 2024, các đại biểu cho rằng công tác phòng, chống tham nhũng, tiêu cực thời gian qua tiếp tục được đẩy mạnh, có bước tiến mới, quyết liệt và hiệu quả hơn…
Tuy nhiên, tình trạng tham nhũng, tiêu cực trên một số lĩnh vực đến nay vẫn còn nghiêm trọng, diễn biến phức tạp, gây hậu quả đặc biệt nghiêm trọng, đặc biệt là có sự câu kết giữa những cán bộ thoái hóa, biến chất với doanh nghiệp, tổ chức để trục lợi.
Loạt bài“Xóa nạn ‘thân hữu’ giữa quan chức và doanh nghiệp” sẽ phân tích bản chất, tác động của các mối quan hệ giữa một bộ phận đảng viên, công chức thoái hóa, biến chất với các doanh nghiệp, trong đó có những cán bộ cấp cao thuộc diện Trung ương quản lý trong hơn 10 năm qua; đánh giá, nhận diện tình trạng “thân hữu”, từ đó kiến nghị các giải pháp để khắc phục tình trạng trên.
Kết luận của Ủy ban Kiểm tra Trung ương trong nhiều vụ án tham nhũng nhấn đi nhấn lại cụm từ “vi phạm, khuyết điểm nghiêm trọng, ảnh hưởng xấu đến uy tín của tổ chức Đảng…”. Gần đây là các vụ kit test Việt Á, chuyến bay giải cứu, Hậu “pháo”, Vạn Thịnh Phát, Công ty Xuyên Việt Oil… Một trong những điểm đáng chú ý là sự bất thường, nạn “thân hữu”, “sân sau” trong mối quan hệ giữa quan chức với doanh nghiệp (DN).
