HCM CITY— Electricity of Việt Nam’s production and import of power increased by 6.3 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter, ensuring safe and uninterrupted supply is available amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A report by the State power distribution company showed that total power output was 57.29 billion kWh.

Domestic production was 49.28 billion kWh, a 6.47 per cent increase.

Trong một bài báo được đăng trên trang mạng Đất Việt ngày 26 tháng 3 năm 2020 [1], Giáo sư Tiến sĩ (GS TS) Vũ Trọng Hồng, nguyên Thứ trưởng Bộ Thủy Lợi (nay là Bộ Nông nghiệp-Phát triển Nông thôn), nói rằng: “Mỗi năm, cả nước cần tới hơn 500 tỷ m³ nước ngọt. Nguồn nước trong nước chỉ đáp ứng được 300 tỷ m³ tính theo lượng mưa và phân bổ trên tất cả các hồ, sông, suối của cả nước. Tuy nhiên, điểm khó khăn của khu vực ĐBSCL [Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long] là nơi đây không có nhiều hồ chứa để dẫn nước về.  Vì thế, chiến lược ngọt hóa dài hạn cần phải tính đến chuyện chuyển nước từ miền Đông sang miền Tây bằng các đường dẫn nước, đồng thời phải xây dựng các hồ trữ nước ngọt đạt chuẩn.  Như vậy mới là ngọt hóa đúng nghĩa” để cứu ĐBSCL.

The Council today adopted a decision on the conclusion of a free trade agreement (FTA) between the EU and Vietnam. This decision clears the path, on the EU side, for the entry into force of the agreement.
