Vị thế FDI tại Việt Nam sau 35 năm mở cửa

Hàng trăm tỷ USD đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài trở thành động lực tăng trưởng của Việt Nam nhiều năm qua, nhưng cũng khiến kinh tế trong nước ngày càng phụ thuộc vào ngoại lực.
Từ con số 2 triệu USD, Việt Nam đã thu hút 524 tỷ USD vốn đăng ký FDI sau 35 năm. Đến hết năm 2022, hơn 36.000 dự án đang hoạt động với tổng vốn 441 tỷ USD, đã giải ngân 57%.

Những năm gần đây, Phú Quốc – được mệnh danh là “thiên đường” nghỉ dưỡng của Việt Nam – đã thu hút ào ạt nhà đầu tư với hàng loạt khách sạn, biệt thự mọc lên như nấm, đẩy giá nhà đất tăng phi mã, một tương lai xán lạn cho đảo ngọc. Bỗng dưng, ngành du lịch nơi đây rơi vào cảnh ế ẩm, vắng vẻ. Sự việc nghiêm trọng đến nỗi, mới đây tỉnh Kiên Giang phải tổ chức cuộc họp “giải cứu” du lịch Phú Quốc.

China’s alleged abuse of the world’s oceans was examined in recent studies into its vast fishing fleet, which is accused of destroying maritime ecosystems far from its shores and perpetuating the industry’s forced labor practices.
China-flagged ships on the high seas were involved in “theft on a grand scale, unrestricted warfare on natural resources,” said a report by the SeaLight project, which says it uses “commercially available technology to shed light on the maritime ‘gray zone.'”
Illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing by Chinese vessels was happening throughout the Asia-Pacific, including within other countries’ exclusive economic zones (EEZ), according to SeaLight, which is under Stanford’s Gordian Knot Center for National Security Innovation.

When Kieu Oanh heard that the latest new drink, hand-pounded lemon tea, had become popular in Hanoi, she did not hesitate to travel 30 km from Bac Ninh to stand in line.
This is not the first time the 24-year-old girl was quick to try out foods that had gone viral on social media. Whenever she discovered a new food or hangout spot within a 200 km radius, she invited her friends to go with her.
“Instead of listening to other people’s experiences, I want to experience it myself,” the office worker said.

Several foreign television channels and platforms have exited Vietnam after changing their business models or failing to meet new regulations, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
In early November Amazon’s Prime Video OTT television platform pulled out after a seven-year run in the country.
Since October National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Baby TV, and Mezzo Live channels have stopped broadcasting in some markets, including Vietnam.
Paramount Network and Baby First have also exited the Vietnamese market.

Phu Quoc authorities have pledged to improve the quality of tourism services on the island and prevent price gouging as they seek to reverse the recent slump in tourism.
They said they would establish an inspection team with officials from various agencies to check the quality and prices of tourism services during the peak holiday season comprising Christmas, New Year and Lunar New Year.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam should set up an early warning system for trade defence to help support Vietnamese products in foreign markets, said industry leaders and policymakers.
According to data from the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), Vietnamese products have been involved in 235 trade remedies investigations in 24 markets around the world. The majority of the cases were anti-dumping (129), trade safeguard (47), evasion investigation (34) and anti-subsidy (24) in nature with products including wooden cabinets, laminated wood, solar panels, shrimp, basa fish, high-pressure washers, foam mattresses, grass cutting machines, cigarette paper, and honey.
