Hôm nay, mình muốn chia sẻ với các bạn một câu Thánh kinh có thể giúp chúng ta có được nước Thiên đàng trong tim. Đó là Matthew 5:3.

“Phúc thay ai có tâm hồn nghèo khó, vì Nước Trời là của họ.”

Trong câu này, Chúa Giêsu cho chúng ta thấy nước Thiên đàng thuộc về những người nghèo khó trong tâm linh. Nhưng họ là ai?

Thực ra, chúng ta không thể đo lường một người nghèo khó trong tâm linh đến mức nào, vì đây là vấn đề của trái tim mỗi người. Chúng ta cần hiểu chính trái tim mình, nhận ra những yếu kém và thành thật với chính mình để xem chúng ta có nghèo khó trong tâm linh hay không. 

Chúng ta nghèo khó trong tâm linh khi ta cảm thấy yếu đuối. Ta luôn muốn nắm tay Chúa để đứng vững trong cuộc đời này. Không có Chúa, chúng ta chẳng làm gì được. 

Chúng ta nghèo khó trong tâm linh khi ta đau khổ. Ta không có gì để dựa vào ngoài Chúa Giêsu. Nhờ những gian khổ trong đời, chúng ta biết đến Chúa. Chúng ta cảm thấy luôn cần hỗ trợ, nên ta giao phó cuộc đời mình cho Chúa Giêsu và tin rằng Chúa sẽ chăm sóc tốt mọi điều. 

Chúng ta cũng nghèo khó trong tâm linh khi ta có khát khao được biết về Chúa Giêsu nhiều hơn. Như một đôi yêu nhau, ta cảm thấy hiểu biết và tình yêu của mình dành cho Giêsu không bao giờ đủ. Chúng ta luôn muốn hiểu Chúa nhiều hơn nữa, nên ta mong được làm một với Chúa để hiểu Chúa rõ hơn. 

Nghèo khó trong tâm linh là cảm giác bên trong khiến ta luôn muốn tựa vào Chúa Giêsu. Và khi ta có Chúa Giêsu trong lòng, thì nước Thiên đàng cũng ở đó. Vì nước Thiên đàng là bình an và tĩnh lặng trong ta khi ta làm một với Chúa Giêsu. 

Chúng ta không cần tìm ở nơi nào khác hay đợi đến khi chết để vào nước Thiên đàng, vì Nước Chúa ở trong ta (Luke 17:21).

Sự thật là, phúc lành của Chúa đến với những ai nghèo khó trong tâm linh, trong khi nhiều người nghĩ họ sẽ được phúc nếu họ giàu có về vật chất. Thế nên họ chạy theo nhiều thứ bên ngoài thay vì chăm lo cho tâm hồn mình. 

Tuy nhiên, “con lạc đà chui qua lỗ kim còn dễ hơn người giàu vào Nước Thiên Chúa” (Matthew 19:24). Người giàu có thể giàu về vật chất thế gian hay giàu có trong tâm linh – cả hai kiểu giàu này thường khiến người ta kiêu căng. (1) Khi có nhiều tiền bạc, quyền lực hay danh tiếng, người ta thường trở nên kiêu căng và không quan tâm đến Chúa hay bất cứ điều gì về tâm linh. (2) Và những người cảm thấy giàu có trong tâm linh thực ra cũng là người kiêu căng – “Tôi tốt, tất cả các thần thánh đều ở cùng tôi để làm cho tôi mạnh mẽ và thành công.”  Người kiêu căng thổi phồng mình lên to đến nỗi không thể đi qua cổng Thiên đàng, nói gì đến lỗ kim. 

Vấn đề tâm linh luôn như vậy – hoàn toàn khác với những gì người ta thường nghĩ. Chỉ những ai sống với Chúa Giêsu mới biết phúc lành thật sự là gì và nước Thiên đàng ở đâu. 

Xin Chúa luôn cho chúng ta trái tim khiên tốn và nắm chặt tay ta mỗi ngày.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, 

Today, I would like to share with you a Bible verse that can help us have the kingdom of heaven in our hearts. That’s Matthew 5:3.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

In this verse, Jesus shows us the kingdom of heaven belongs to the poor in spirit. But who are they?

Actually, we can’t measure how poor someone is in spirit, because this is a matter of each person’s heart. We need to understand our own hearts, recognize our weaknesses, and be honest with ourselves to see whether we are poor in spirit or not.

We are poor in spirit when we feel that we are weak. We always need to hold God’s hand to stand firm in this life. Without God, we can do nothing.

We are poor in spirit when we are suffering. We have nothing to rely on except Jesus. Thanks to hardships in life, we know Him. We feel that we always need support, so we entrust our lives to Jesus and believe that he will take good care of everything.

We are also poor in spirit when we have the desire to know more about Jesus. Like a couple who love each other, we feel that our understanding and love for Jesus is never enough. We always want to understand him more and more, so we long to be one with him to know him better.

Being poor in spirit is the feeling inside that makes us always want to lean on Jesus. And when we have Jesus in our hearts, the kingdom of heaven is also there. As the kingdom of heaven is the peace and stillness within us when we are one with Jesus.

We do not need to look for somewhere else or wait until we die to enter the kingdom of heaven, because the kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21).

The truth is, God’s blessing comes to those who are poor in spirit, while many people think they will be blessed if they are rich in material things. That’s why they always run after many things outside instead of caring about their spirit. 

However, “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:24). The rich can be rich in worldly things or rich in spirit – both kinds of richness usually make people arrogant. When people have so much money, power, or reputation, they often become arrogant and don’t care about God or anything spiritual. And the people who feel rich in spirit actually are arrogant people – “I am good, all the gods and the saints are with me to make me powerful and successful.” Arrogant people puff themselves up so large that they can’t go through the gate of heaven, let alone the eye of a needle.

Spiritual matters are always like that. They completely differ from what people usually think. Only those who live with Jesus know what true blessing is and where the kingdom of heaven is.

May God always give us humble hearts and hold our hands tight every day.
