Muong Khuong tangerines

Sapa corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Muong Khuong is a mountainous town in Lao Cai province. It’s about 80 km from Sapa. From November to January, gardeners from the town bring Muong Khuong tangerines – a well-known speciality – to sell in Sapa.

Muong Khuong tangerines are the same size as green oranges, but their shape is less rounded and their skin is rougher than oranges. This tangerine has a thick, aromatic rind that can peel easily. Each fruit contains 9-11 equal sections with juicy flesh. There are only one to two tiny seeds per section.

During the tangerine season, I often buy this fruit at a local supermarket near my house. Though ripe Muong Khuong tangerines may look greenish, they taste fresh and sweet, with a strong fragrance. Compared to other tangerines I’ve tried, this kind of tangerine is really delicious and rich in flavor.

Eating Muong Khuong tangerines always makes me feel healthy and happy. I feel like the taste of earth, water, sun, and the gardeners’ hard work is in each tangerine. I’m so grateful to enjoy this winter treat from Muong Khuong and hope that I will visit a tangerine orchard in this town one day.

Sharing with you.

Have a blessed day.

Cheers,

An An

  2. Yes, An An. Chances always come to us because God love us. However, to all who are ready, they will receive God’s opportunities and God’s love.

“This story brings me hope for cancer patients.” Me too. And I believe that fruit will help increase our positive thinking by 7 times. Moreover, together, fruit and positive spirituality will heal all our diseases.

  3. Chances will come if we prepare for them.

Thank you so much, chị Hương, for taking the time to share with me these valuable materials by anh Hoành and other authors on martial arts. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for sharing the reason why you love orange juice and drink it every day. The story about the woman who had cancer is really magical. Reciting “Namo Amitabha Buddha” and drinking orange juice can heal her. This story brings me hope for cancer patients and also inspires me.

May God heal all our diseases.

    Peace be with you.

P/S: I forget say to you about why I love drink orange juice (I drink 2-3kg oranges daily).

3 years ago, I read Hội tập Kinh Vô Lượng Thọ – Tịnh độ tông Việt Nam (in Ebooks của các tác giả khác, number 36). The book tells about a old man. He is 140 year old. He chants “Namo Amitabha Buddha” in his whole life. A woman follows his way. She is about 60 year old. She has cancer and is dying. She stops going to the hospital, stays home, sunbaths, drinks orange juice and chants “Namo Amitabha Buddha”. She recovers, become healthy and go to preach. The story inspires me.

  5. Thank you, chị Hương, for sharing.

It’s interesting to learn most moms crave fruit when they are pregnant. Perhaps their bodies know fruit is good for them and their babies during pregnancy.

Walking in a park is enjoyable. Each time I visit a city in VN, I like to take a stroll in a green park. However, it might be unsafe for girls to walk alone in a large park or on deserted streets. You’re totally right. We need a safe world for women, girls, and children.

I don’t know much about martial arts. This is the first time I’ve heard about Kali martial art. During my school days, I took part in several martial art classes. Yet these classes were just opened for a few months and then closed. Learning martial arts is still my dream.

Martial arts help women and girls become strong and gentle at the same time. With martial arts, they are able to protect themselves from danger. I’m happy to know that you practice martial arts regularly and master them day by day. Keep it up, chị.

Thank you, chị Hương. It was nice to chat with you.

    Blessings to you.

  6. I’m glad knowing you have fruit for breakfast.

When your mom was with you, she craved tangerines. When my mom was with my young brother, she craved star fruit. When my friend was with her child, she craved coconut water… Most moms are with their child, they crave fruit. Why? Because moms’ bodies need fruit, or because babies in the wombs need fruit? (Just for fun. 🙂 ).

I’m living in an area that having 2 big parks for its residents. I love the parks here. However I don’t really feel good when walking alone, even in daytime and I carry a wooden stick for self-defense (anh Hoành teaches me the Kali martial art). We need a safe world for women and girls.

Thank you for sharing, An An.

Grace and peace to you from God.

  7. Thank you, chị Hương, for sharing your joy with oranges and tangerines as a fruitarian.

You have inspired me to try a new diet. I now have fruit for breakfast. I feel light both in body and mind when eating more fruit.

You know, my mom told me that when she was about to give birth to me, she craved tangerines. Maybe that’s why I’m fond of tangerines. Oranges are my favorite too.

It would be wonderful to have a garden like that, chị. I hope our country will have more public green parks and orchards, so we can walk barefoot and enjoy fresh fruits throughout the country.

    Heaven is in our hearts.

Thanks again, chị Hương, for sharing your heart.

Grace and peace to you from God.

  8. These Muong Khuong tangerines look good.

I love tangerines and oranges. Because oranges are cheaper than tangerines, I drink oranges juice more. I once drank only orange juice for 7 days, and drank and ate nothing else (I’m a fruitarian). I felt great.

Sometimes I wish I had an orange or tangerine garden, I would drink orange or tangerine juice and walk barefoot in the garden every day. Great.

    We are in the heaven.

Thank you, An An, for sharing your heaven.

    God bless you.
