Tri ân và bảo quốc là biết ơn và bảo vệ tổ quốc.

Biết ơn là biết ơn ai, biết ơn gì?

Trong quốc gia chiến tranh triền miên như Việt Nam, chúng ta thường nói tri ân bao thế hệ cha ông đã hy sinh xương máu để bảo quốc, dự quốc, và kiến quốc. Đó điều đương nhiên. Con cháu phải biết ơn sự hy sinh của các thế hệ tiền nhân.

Nhưng còn nhiều người, nhiều điều, để biết ơn ngày nay. Mọi nông dân tạo nên thực phẩm cho ta hằng ngày, mọi thầy cô đã dạy dỗ ta trong đời, cha mẹ ông bà, bạn bè để ta tâm sự khi xuống tinh thần, mọi chiến binh bảo vệ ta hằng ngày, mọi bác tài lái xe buýt, mọi shippers giao hàng, mọi bác sĩ chữa bệnh, mọi kỹ sư cầu cống, mọi kỹ sư IT, mọi cảnh sát giao thông, mọi chị bán hàng rong, mọi vận động viên thể thao để ta thưởng thức, mọi ca nhạc sĩ ta yêu thích… mọi hàng cây xanh tươi, mọi đàn bồ câu trong quảng trường, mọi chú sóc trong công viên, mọi hồ nước trong lành, mọi chú cá nhởn nhơ bơi lội và mọi chàng thiên nga bơi chầm chậm trong hồ, đàn chim sẻ bay lượn trên vòm me…

Có rất nhiêu người và nhiều thứ làm cho đời ta tốt hơn và vui hơn. Tất cả ta cần tri ân.

Từ tổ tiên từ bao năm trước, đến mọi người mọi thứ hỗ trợ đời ta hôm nay, ta đều tri ân. Và tri ân như thế nên ta bảo quốc – bảo vệ quốc gia này với nhiêu người nhiều thứ ta tri ân đang sống.

Các bạn, yêu nước không phải là một cụm từ trừu tượng. Yêu nước là yêu mọi người mọi thứ cụ thể quanh ta. Và bảo quốc cũng không là một từ trừu tượng – đó là làm việc để đưa đất nước đi lên trong cuộc chiến cạnh tranh chính trị và kinh tế toàn cầu giữa mọi quốc gia – làm bất kỳ việc gì cũng làm hết sức, làm kiên trì, làm thành thật, với chất lượng cao nhất, đề góp phần vào sức mạnh cạnh tranh của quốc gia.

Mỗi chúng ta là một chiến binh của quốc gia trong cuộc cạnh tranh toàn cầu. Bạn chỉ cần tập trung hết sức vào làm công việc của bạn – đạo đức, thành thật, kiên trì, với chấp lượng cao nhất – vì yêu mọi người và mọi thứ quanh bạn.

Đó là bạn đã làm tròn nhiệm vụ chiến binh bảo quốc ngày nay.

Tri ân bảo quốc – Hold gratitude, defend the nation

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Hold gratitude, protect the fatherland.

Hold gratitude to whom, to what?

In a country of constant wars like Vietnam, we often talk about gratitude to generations of ancestors who sacrificed their blood and bones to protect the country, preserve the country, and build the country. That is natural. Descendants must be grateful for the sacrifices of previous generations.

But there are many people, many things, to be grateful for today. Every farmer who grows our food every day, every teacher who has taught us in our lives, every parent, grandparent; every friend we confide in when we are down, every warrior who protects us every day, every bus driver, every shipper who delivers goods, every doctor who treats patients, every bridge engineer, every IT engineer, every traffic policeman, every street vendor, every sports athlete we enjoy, every musician we love… every green tree, every flock of pigeons in the square, every squirrel in the park, every clear lake, every fish swimming leisurely and every swan swimming slowly in the lake, a flock of sparrows flying in the canopy of tamarind trees…

There are so many people and so many things that make our lives better and happier. We need to be grateful for all of them.

From our ancestors many years ago, to everyone and everything that supports our lives today, we are grateful for them. And with gratitude, we protect our country – protect this country with so many people and things we are grateful for living in it.

My friends, patriotism is not an abstract phrase. Patriotism is loving everyone and everything around us. And protecting the country is not an abstract word either – it means working to bring the country up in the global political and economic competition between all countries – when doing anything, do it with all your might, do it persistently, do it honestly, with the highest quality, to contribute to the competitive strength of our country.

Each of us is a warrior of the country in the global competition. You just need to focus all your energy on doing your job – ethically, honestly, persistently, with the highest quality – for loving everyone and everything around you.

That is how you fulfill your duty as a warrior to protect the country today.
