Dear Brothers and Sisters,
One summer morning, when I had just finished watering a rose plant on our balcony, I spotted a ladybug perching on a rose petal. The bug was as small as a pea. Its back was black with a few orange dots. It seemed this little one was sunbathing, so I just let it be.
A couple of days later, I came across another ladybug on the same rose. It caught my eye with its red-orange wings adorned with tiny black spots. The bug looked like a colourful half-sphere button.
This time, I stopped for a while to see what the ladybug was doing. From a rose leaflet, the bug started roaming around the rose bush. It crawled slowly and gracefully through the thorns and small branches like a lady.
Step by step, the ladybug crept to an unopened rosebud, where there were many harmful aphids. While the bug was trying to reach the aphids, it recognized my presence. All at once, it spread its glossy wings and flew away.
Since that day, I have understood the reason the bugs had appeared on the rose. They wanted to save the rosebuds from the attack of aphids.
In my eyes, the ladybugs were not only cute, but also beneficial. They were brave heroes to my rose. I really appreciated and adored them.
Sharing with you.
Have a good day.
Cheers,
An An
