Parents need to educate their children

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It seems today, busy parents tend to leave the children’s education totally in the hand of schools. That is the parents’ grave mistake and their children’s grave misfortune.

Schools don’t have enough time for our children, because their time is spent mostly on academic subjects. They don’t have enough time to focus on educating your kids to be good persons.

In addition, you want your children to grow up the way you want them to grow up, not the way their schools want them to grow up. The world has all kinds of people, including teachers, with all kinds of crazy living philosophies. Parents need to be conscious about what their children may be taught at schools.

On top of that, children can learn a huge amount from their friends, the media and, especially, the Internet. From friends they can learn smoking, vaping, e-cigarette, alcohol, chasing after fashion, new foods, new hot spots… From the media and Internet, they learn all kinds of stupid things from other cultures, such as glorifying money, name, dumb beauty queens, worshipping empty-headed divas and divos…

If you have children, you need to spend time with them to educate them and give them some serious knowledge about life and living. Busy making money is not an excuse to leave your children in the market (mang con bỏ chợ).

Another big difficulty for parents is the cultural chaos that the world is facing – what religion is good? Should I focus on religion? How about LGBT? How about discipline? Should I discipline my children? Or should I treat them as friends and equal to me?

Many parents get lost in the cultural chaos and choose to ignore all the cultural questions and never mention them to their children.

Parents, your children need to learn discipline – discipline is the most important thing for a child to learn. Without discipline a child will grow up to be useless adult.

Teach your children to work when they are little – helping mom and dad do things in the house, making their own bed, watering the plants, washing and drying clothes… There are many small things in the house to work on, to learn the value of labor and discipline.

There are things children cannot touch, just say “no”, such as cigarette, alcohol, vaping, gambling.

Teach them your religion. If you don’t have a religion, at least teach them the normal morals (Don’t lie, don’t steal, don’t backstab, don’t badmouth, love people, be gentle, be tolerant).

If you don’t feel comfortable about LGBT and don’t know what to do about it because you think you don’t understand enough, then at least you let your children know how you feel about the issue. At least, the children have to understand the position of their parents on the issue (and they can go their own way when they grow up).

Children need a clear framework to live in. You don’t want your children to have a head with all kinds of confusion like a jungle. They can’t grow up well with a mind like that.

You parents have the responsibility to provide your children with a solid and clear mental framework to live in. Don’t let your child be confused constantly by anything – that would be a mental defect.

In summary, you parents need to spend time and stay close to your children, to train them properly to be a good human being.

Don’t leave your children in the market.

With compassion,

Hoành
