Tự kỷ luật

Đã có một thời kỳ khoảng từ 5 thập niên gần đây, càng ngày chúng ta càng chống kỷ luật trong nền văn hóa Việt Nam. Kỷ luật được xem là xưa cổ và áp bức, của người lớn áp đặt trên người nhỏ. Đó cũng không hẳn chỉ là hiện tượng Việt Nam. Khoảng hơn 50 năm nay thế giới là một đấu trường, trong đó giới trẻ hỗ trợ tự do và cá nhân chủ nghĩa đẩy lại các thế hệ lớn hơn được xem là bảo thủ, kỷ luật và áp bức.
Ngày nay thì đỡ hơn một chút, nhưng thực sự cũng có khoảng cách giữa hai thế hệ kề nhau như bố mẹ và con cái, vì đó cũng là điều tự nhiên – bố mẹ có nhiệm vụ dạy dỗ và trông nom các con, và công việc đó đòi hỏi bố mẹ sử dụng kỷ luật để huấn luyện con, cũng như dạy con biết tự kỷ luật.

The world is in turmoil. Only thirty years after the fall of the USSR and the collapse of its proxy network in Eastern Europe, a land war is being fought in Europe between a democracy and a dictatorship.
When the Cold War ended, we could have scarcely imagined that in just three decades we would be where we are now. We know now that the collapse of the USSR in 1991 did not bring about “the end of history” as prophesied. Instead, it bred complacency among the leaders of the Western democracies, great complacency which has sowed the seeds for the current global anti-democratic reckoning.
