This is a Chinese film about theme of war, a war between China and Japan – the Second Sino-Japanese War.
The Second Sino-Japanese War was a military conflict fought primarily between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan from July 7, 1937, to September 2, 1945. The First Sino-Japanese War (1894–1895), between China (Qing Dynasty) and Japan (Empire of Japan), primarily over control of Korea.
The film based on Chinese folklore during the war time about Lam Ni and Chu Thiết Sơn couple, the famous Communist Party of China spy couple.
I watched the film because I wanted to know more about war. Although I knew war is bad, the film still hurted me. If I was born in that war time, what would I do? Perhaps I would do things our old brothers and sisters did.
I love our old brothers and sisters. And I love peace.
