Đây là bài hát nhạc blues được Preston “Red” Foster sáng tác và được ca sĩ R&B Ann Cole thu âm lần đầu tiên vào năm 1956. Lời bài hát mô tả một số bùa hộ mệnh, gọi là mojo, gắn liền với hoodoo – hệ thống tín ngưỡng dân gian-ma thuật của người Mỹ gốc Phi thời kỳ đầu.

Năm 1957, Muddy Waters biểu diễn bài này với cách phối nhạc mới. Màn trình diễn của Waters đã nhận được một số giải thưởng và được nhiều tổ chức và ấn phẩm khác nhau công nhận. Here is the common problem of mankind: You have seen or read about leaders, usually warring or revolutionary leaders, who talked about saving their country, saving their people, loving their nation, protecting their citizens… all the great idealistic goals for their people to follow. But in practice, such leaders and their followers killed, maimed, tortured and imprisoned millions of people that the leaders considered anti-revolutionists, reactionists, betrayers, or enemies of the people… So their mouths talked peace and love while their hands killed and maimed, as if the hands and the mouth belonged to two separate persons. Ngày 17/8/2023, Thủ tướng Chính phủ ký, ban hành Quyết định số 22/2023/QĐ-TTg về tín dụng đối với người chấp hành xong án phạt tù. Đây là chính sách mới, rất nhân văn, nhân đạo nhằm giúp đỡ người chấp hành xong án phạt tù ổn định cuộc sống, hòa nhập với cộng đồng.

Để bạn đọc hiểu rõ hơn về chính sách này, Chuyên đề ANTG của Báo CAND đã phỏng vấn Đại tá Nguyễn Văn Long, Phó Cục trưởng Cục Cảnh sát quản lý tạm giữ, tạm giam và thi hành án hình sự tại cộng đồng.

In this week’s edition we publish The World Ahead 2024, our 38th annual predictive guide to the coming year, and in all that time no single person has ever eclipsed our analysis as much as Donald Trump eclipses 2024. That a Trump victory next November is a coin-toss probability is beginning to sink in.

Mr Trump dominates the Republican primary. Several polls have him ahead of President Joe Biden in swing states. In one, for the New York Times, 59% of voters trusted him on the economy, compared with just 37% for Mr Biden. In the primaries, at least, civil lawsuits and criminal prosecutions have only strengthened Mr Trump. For decades Democrats have relied on support among black and Hispanic voters, but a meaningful number are abandoning the party. In the next 12 months a stumble by either candidate could determine the race—and thus upend the world.
