This is the drum sound. The drum tells about a famous battle between Vietnam and China – the battle of Ngọc Hồi-Đống Đa. It is considered one of the greatest victories in Vietnamese military history.

This is the battle between the Tây Sơn dynasty and the Qing dynasty in Ngọc Hồi and Đống Đa (part of modern Hanoi) from 1788 to 1789.

Emperor Quang Trung (Nguyễn Huệ) was the commander the Tây Sơn army. Quang Trung (1753 – 16 September 1792), was the second emperor of the Tây Sơn dynasty, reigning from 1788 until 1792. He was also one of the most successful military commanders in Vietnam’s history.
